KlipSki & the Art of carrying skis & poles together

KlipSkis are the modern-day solution to using the pole straps to carry your skis and poles together.

Unlike pole straps, however, or indeed straps, slings or other gadgets, KlipSkis hold everything rigidly, so there is nothing to slip or slide around or cause any accidents.

KlipSkis have won several awards for both product innovation and for improving safety on the slopes.

Ideal for adults as well as children, beginners and experienced skiiers.

Suitable for use with most types of skis* including downhill and cross-country skis.

* Not suitable for use with fats. Check your ski widths immediately either side of the bindings are compatible with the maximum width that KlipSkis can accommodate.

SPECIFICATIONS

KlipSkis are 100% made in France from ABS plastic.

They are designed for use between -30°C and +60°C.

Cold KlipSkis or KlipSkis that have been left a while keeping skis and poles clipped together while in storage, can lose their springiness. This is easily restored simply by placing the KlipSkis in an inside pocket for a couple of hours.

SIZING

For use with child and adult skis and poles where the width of the skis immediately either side of the bindings does not exceed 85 mm.

Before purchasing, check your ski widths immediately either side of the bindings are compatible with the maximum width that KlipSkis can accommodate.

For downhill skis, place the skis back to back using the binding levers to secure. Slide a KlipSki onto the skis, one just in front of the bindings, and the other just behind, with the hooks facing upward. Slide each KlipSki firmly up against the bindings.

In the case of cross-country skis, place the skis side by side with the bindings facing you, then slip the KlipSkis over the skis, again just above and below the bindings.

A word of advice :
To prevent the KlipSkis from sliding around, when you clip the poles onto the KlipSkis, make sure the handles are snug against the KlipSki hooks.

Downhill and XC skis :
Clip the poles into the KlipSkis. The thinner poles used by kids will clip neatly into the smaller hook, while adult poles will clip neatly into the larger hook (see above diagram).

To further improve stability and rigidity, reverse the poles such that one is pointing towards the ski tips, and the other towards the back (see photo below).

For info, the KlipSkis’ inner pads are NOT rubberized, but instead are roughened to afford some purchase on the tops of your skis.

If we had instead used a rubber compound (and believe us – we tried lots), then the KlipSkis are just too grippy and hence very difficult to slide on and off the skis.

If you prefer to use a pole as a walking stick to help you balance when leaving the piste, then instead of clipping both poles into the KlipSkis, do the following:

Clip just one pole into, say, the right hand hook of the rear KlipSki, again with the handle abutting the KlipSki. Next, swing the pole over the skis to clip it firmly into the left hand hook of the front KlipSki. Warning : As this arrangement is less solid than when employing both poles, keep the skis horizontal when walking, so as to prevent things from sliding around.

CARE

STAY DRY

KlipSkis do not absorb water. That means snow and ice can be easily shaken off.

This keeps the inside of your pockets or backpack dry once on the slopes.

STAY FLEXIBLE

KlipSkis can be used at temperatures going all the way down to -30°C. If, however, they are left on your skis at low temperatures, they will lose their flexibility and not work as well as they should.

There is a very simple remedy for this, which will get your KlipSkis back to their usual springy selves.

Simply place your KlipSkis in your pocket and allow your body heat to warm them back up. Once reheated in this way, they will once again work as new!

GET A GRIP

If over time, you find the grip pads start to move or even come away completely – don’t panic.

You can order new grip pads directly from us, which we will mail out to you at cost. Once you get these, use some rubbing alcohol to fully remove the old pads and clean the KlipSkis. Dry down with a clean cloth or paper towel, remove the backing paper of the new pads, and press firmly into place.

RECYCLING

 

Should your KlipSkis ever become unserviceable, please dispose of them responsibly using your local plastics recycling facility or per your local authority regulations.

Very simple!

Just mail us back your used or end-of-life KlipSkis together with your name, address, phone number and email address, and we will email you a discount code for you to use against your next KlipSki purchase. One pair of KlipSkis returned = one discount voucher to be used against the purchase of a new pair of KlipSkis via our website.

Discounts are not cumulative, and are single use only. We reserve the right to refuse discounts without reason if we suspect our offer is being abused.

WARRANTY

KlipSkis are guaranteed for one year and 7 days from the date of purchase against manufacturing defects, on the basis they have been used in accordance with the instructions provided. Using KlipSkis for any purpose other than their intended purpose, or in any manner other than that provided, invalidates the warranty and no claims will be entertained. Your statutory consumer rights are unaffected.
